yush Adhikari from Vasundhara (Ghaziabad) has done the nation and Uttarakhand proud by becoming member of a young football team that has landed in Germany to be part of a six-year professional footballer programme organised by Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim..


14-year-old Ayush, a class X student of Saint Theresa School in Indirapuram (Ghaziabad), was part of a talent hunt competition organized by a leading German football club in which he got selected out of 15,000 young Indian footballers from across India. He is now part of 17-member team that is currently in Germany for the training programme.Football scouts went to around 1,000 schools in over 45 cities to choose 17 boys to be trained at  Hoffenheim academy in Zuzenhausen, Germany.

Ayush has been part of Delhi’s football team and has played in national championships thrice. His father Upendra Adhikari and mother Jyoti Adhikari, both hailing from Uttarakhand, are proud to see their son be a part of prestigious event. They hope that he would do big in Indian and world football. Upendra says Ayush started playing football when he was just three years old and slowly became serious about his game, his passion. The favourite position of this attacking football player is centre forward.

Full list of selected boys are: Pranav Kanse (Kolhapur), Akash Mishra (Lucknow), Pradeep Mannewar (Udaipur), Aniket Varekar (Kolhapur), Shivam Maan (New Delhi), Kumar Rathod (Mumbai), Ayush Adhikari (Ghaziabad), Ankit Bhuyan (Bhubaneshwar), Ishant Rana (Mumbai), Raul Lewis (Mumbai), Armaan Kalra (Gurgaon), Delton Colaco, Kimran Fernandes, Wellyster Mendes (Goa), Manish Malyadri Siddha (Pune).

    My Best wishes with ayuah . And special regards to his parents for promoting his talent and taking this brave step of sending there young so far. Its not that easy for parents specially in pahari comunity. Uttrakhand has huge talent specially in athletics but we fail to promote it.

      Thanks for your comments. Yes, there is no dearth of talent in Uttarakhand. With little promotion and support, Uttarakhand can also give national and international-level sportsmen. Hope National Games 2018 which are being held in Dehradun will give much needed boost to sporting activities and talent in Uttarakhand.

    Uttarakhand football team is one of the best football team in India ,corporate should focus on setting up academies which can nurture talent as they are doing in Bangalore Mumbai.
