Yummy Jackfruit cutlets-cum-kofta curry  लीजिए कटहल के कटलेट्स और कोफ्ता करी के मजे

Jackfruit is eaten in many ways — as a fruit, as a pickle or as your favourite “kuthal ki subzi”. But now our culinary expert Meeta Shah prepares a two-in-one dish from jackfruit — jackfruit cutlets and “kuthal ke kofte”. Enjoy…


INGREDIENTS

Jackfruit 1kg

Medium Potatoes 4-5(boiled)

Flat Rice 1 cup or as required to get the right consistency of cutlets or kofte

Garlic Cloves 5-7

Ginger 2 inch

Green Chillies 3-4

Chopped Coriander one bunch

Salt to taste


METHOD

Clean and cut the jackfruit into small pieces and boil it slightly

Mix it with mashed potatoes, wet flat rice and all other ingredients

Make balls and deep fry till golden brown

Jackfruit cutlets are ready and can be served as snacks

INGREDIENTS FOR KOFTA CURRY

Onions 2 bulbs

Tomatoes 4-5

Garlic cloves 3-4

Ginger 1 inch

Turmeric 1/2 tsp

Hot spice or ‘garam masala’ 1/2 tsp (power of 1tsp cumin, 5 cloves, 1 black cardamom, 1cm cinnamon, 5-6 black pepper)

Salt to taste


METHOD

Fry finely chopped onions, garlic, ginger in 4tsp refined oil till it turns light brown

Now add chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric, and fry till it leaves oil

Add 2 cups water and pressure cook the gravy for 10 minutes

Open and add hot spices and chopped coriander

Before serving add kofta balls to hot gravy
